The Crescents, the members of The Rossland Ladies Hockey Team, are true hometown legends and pioneers not only in sport, but who also changed the place of Canadian women in athletics. The annual Rossland Winter Carnival, which began in 1896, created the first opportunity for women to play competitively for spectators in British Columbia. An important part of Rossland history and a rarely defeated force that won respect on the ice from 1900 until 1918, the team was inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
The Crescent is a homage to their legacy and contribution to RED culture, a community founded on a history of pioneering spirit that is fiercely independent but absolutely welcoming.
